Would you like to rig and animate characters for Game Engines (Unreal, Unity, Godot, etc.) using Blender? Then read on...

---------------------------------------------------------------

⚠️⚠️⚠️BEFORE YOU PURCHASE: PLEASE SELECT THE DESIRED "Level" FROM THE MENU TO THE RIGHT (OR AT THE BOTTOM ON MOBILE)
Sorry for the all-caps but this is important. If e.g. Level 0 is highlighted, then you'll receive Level 0 Rewards even if you paid, say $30. I can fix it after the fact but it's best to avoid that altogether :)

To recap

This series will focus on two major problems (or "gaps") when exchanging rigged characters between Blender and Game Engines (whether it's UE4 or CryEngine or whatever).

Gap #1: From Blender to Game Engines

  • preparing your characters for a Game Engine (this includes mesh, rig & animation, as well as scene preparation)
  • exporting from Blender with the correct export settings
  • importing the character in the Game Engine with the most suitable settings

Gap #2: From Game Engine to Blender (and back again)

  • importing rigged games assets into Blender
  • Retargeting
  • Importing the edited character and animations back to the game engine

This may seem like a short list but there are a lot of little details that need to be set up correctly. Seemingly small inaccuracies may lead to inconsistent results.

Along with the main videos about the two "gaps" you can expect related videos around the topics of Rigging and Animation in Blender. I'll be reviewing tools that automate or simplify complex tasks, e.g. creating walk cycles, resuing motion capture data etc.
